Dear SPARC Team Lead,
Congratulations to you and your team for your submission of a SPARC. All scoring sheets and proofread SPARCs have now been sent and should be at your school by April 10. We understand that there is concern over the proofreading and peer review process, but this office is committed to honoring the decisions made by a statewide cross section of your peers. For the purpose of clarification, original SPARC documents are being sent to the Governor's Office and to state legislators. Only the pdf submitted to us and that will be posted on the website may be modified for minor errors.
For the Northern California and San Diego areas, we regret that due to the budget crisis, we could not sponsor awards ceremonies in your regions. We will be sending your commendation or trophy to the address listed on your application. If you are coming to the Southern California awards ceremony from Northern CA or the San Diego area, we invite you to bring your award with you and we will “re-award” you as part of our ceremony.
For Southern California, the awards ceremony is scheduled to take place at the Sheraton Fairplex in Pomona on April 24, 2009 from 8:30 am to 10:30 am. Registration is not required. We encourage you and your team to invite your superintendent, principal, board members and others to the event. There will be two speakers and you may also choose to attend the National Hispanic College Fair after the ceremony.
Requirement: all Academy Award, Best (and Diamond Best) in the West, Governor's Trophy and SPARC MASTERS recipients must submit their SPARC to: http://www.sparconline.net/_uploadsparc.html to receive an award.
